Home Background Students Projects Staff Schools Findings	Ishan Wijewardano Hi guys my name is Ishan. At the moment I am 16 years old. I have been working with a group of scientific researchers at the LSHTM since I was 14. Along with the Dagenham Park crew, I have been able to complete two projects on Protection against Malaria, and Cycling in Central London. Well, to say, I’m a bit of a cool guy and extremely good looking.   I am quite a serious guy when it comes to work, but at times I feel like having fun and skipping work. (Well, Obviously!!) Okay, so before I bore you to death, here is a bit of Scientific Info of some of the work I have carried out;   What is Malaria? Malaria is a potentially fatal tropical disease that is caused by a parasite known as Plasmodium. It spreads through the bite of an Anopheles  mosquito. It is estimated that there are 300-500 million new cases ever.
